Why the DVC Point of Sales (POS)?

Because your computer system should match the unique strategies and processes that your practice has adopted to compete in your market.

A computer program essentially is an expression of a series of process flows, a tool we use to assist in the execution, measuring, reporting and assessment of those processes. Generic programs aimed at a broad market homogenize practice processes forcing users to adopt their notion of flow design and strategy. The DVC point of sale system starts with operational process flows that best support the execution of a medical model of practice. We then integrate those into our system design that facilitates and supports staff execution. Hand in hand with this process we track and report specific measures that then enable us to assess performance. And because the DVC POS is used commonly across over 40 OD practices, users can compare and benchmark their performance against others. Finally, the DVC program is a dynamic “work in process”. As our strategies of processes evolve to meet our patient needs so too does the program. Updates are included in our monthly fee.

Listed below are some of the modules currently included in the DVC POS system:

Inventory Control

The largest expense to an optometry practice is the purchase of products for re-sale. Every dollar tied-up in excess inventory limits the funds available to help grow your practice. The proper control of inventory levels insures not only that you have the proper mix of products available for you patients, but also that you manage the value of your inventory as efficiently as possible. DVC's POS program has a comprehensive inventory control module that allows you to manage purchases in an efficient manner for:

  • Frame Inventory
  • Ophthalmic Lens Inventory
  • Contact Lens Inventory
Third Party Management

Accurate data entry, filing, tracking, collection and the posting of Third Party claim reimbursements is critical to the financial success of an optometry practice. An increasing percentage of your sales revenue is dependent upon third party payers. Each payer may impose restrictions on the timely payment of your claims and fees. The quicker you generate an accurate claim – the faster you will be paid.

Reporting

There are 40+ practices utilizing the POS program. This allows you to evaluate your practice's performance against specific goals and the entire user group. Reports can also be customized for your specific practice's needs.

  • Analyze key practice indicators for CPT codes, pricing & claims performance.
  • DVC publishes regular comparative analysis reports: Total Sales, Optical Sales, Accounts Receivable & Commissions.

Cash Management

DVC POS provides tracking capabilities from “point-of-sale” to the daily deposit. Reconciliation is specific to each method of payment.

Patient Scheduling

This POS module allows you to track all patient encounters, flags recall needs and maximizes the income potential of your daily office schedule. Each practice can customize & track your schedule to insure efficiency and profitability.
